Home / First Visit
Sixty minutes. Zero mystery.
Here's exactly what happens when you walk into our Johnson City office for the first time — step by step, so nothing about your visit is a surprise.
Your first visit, from the front door.
- Welcome & paperwork
You're greeted at the door and complete your intake forms — about 5–10 minutes, or nearly zero if you fill them out online ahead of time (links below).
- Consultation
This part is all about you. We take an in-depth health history and talk through what you're dealing with right now, what you've already tried, and what you want to get back to — your goals set the direction for everything that follows. Bring your questions.
- Assessment
Advanced scanning technology identifies and evaluates the underlying cause of your health concerns. Objective data, not guesswork.
- Motion study X-rays, if needed
Only when your case calls for them. Instead of a single still picture, we take X-rays with you moving into different positions, so we can see specifically how your spine moves and where it's getting stuck. Digital X-rays are done right in the office — no referral or second trip across Johnson City.
The Doctor's Report.
A few days later, you come back for your report of findings. This is where the scans and X-rays turn into a plan.
- Report of findings
We walk through your scans and any X-rays together, in plain English, so you can see exactly what we found and why it matters.
- New patient orientation
Dr. Michael and the team spend extra time educating you on what to expect from care — because patients who understand their care heal better.
- Your care plan
We lay out the plan, how long it takes, and what it costs — including your complimentary insurance benefits check — and answer every question before you commit to anything.
- Your first adjustment
If you're ready, we start care that same visit.
What to bring.
- Your insurance card — we'll run a complimentary benefits check
- Your driver's license
- Any current X-rays or MRIs you already have
- Intake forms, if you completed them at home
Forms: adult intake forms · pediatric intake forms
That's it. That's the whole process.
No pressure, no surprise bills, no adjustment before you understand what's happening and why.
