Spinal Degeneration

Spinal Degeneration is an often painful condition that erodes the spine’s ability to handle stress. The discs begin to lose water content that should be present to absorb shock during motion. While almost everyone experiences some level of degeneration after 40 due to the everyday wear and tear of life, the degeneration can be accelerated in those who have overly strained their spine. Some patients with spinal degeneration may eventually begin to experience numbness and tingling in the arms or legs in addition to back pain.

Prolonged spinal degeneration can significantly contribute to Multiple Sclerosis due to the altering of fluid flow between the spinal cord and brain. MS is also associated with disc dehydration, posterior disc protrusion, and abnormal posture. Recent research shows that 60% of people over 50 have some degree of degeneration. Chiropractic care can help restore proper function of the spinal column even with the presence of degeneration. Many patients with MS have seen much improvement in their condition with regular a spinal decompression chiropractor!

“With consistent care my spurs, bulging disc and disc degeneration disappeared.”

I have suffered from severe chronic disc degeneration, spur complexes and a bulging disc for years. I tried physical therapy, other chiropractors and acupuncture with no change. Any medications I tried offered no relief.

I definitely had my doubts about coming to another chiropractic office, especially since I tried it before and didn’t see any results. I was reluctant to give it a chance, but I was desperate to get rid of the pain. Dr. Micheal was very patient and understanding with me. Everyone in the office was beyond nice. I decided to start care and see if I noticed improvement. After consistent care I noticed huge results. I could bend over and walk up stairs without pain in my back or legs. I no longer woke up with back pain and my MRI results came back as stable and near normal. My bulging disc, spurs and disc degeneration that I was previously diagnosed with had disappeared according to my MRI!

The whole office is very informed and knowledgeable.  I would definitely recommend chiropractic care to others.
