Most of us know that prevention is much easier than repair.  Especially when we’re young, we can easily forget how important our posture is and the affect it can have in adulthood. Posture plays a vital role in  back pain and other types of dysfunction that can happen down the road.

Neurologically based chiropractic care has the ability to help prevent problems before they even occur.  Research shows that chiropractic care improves posture, therefore aiding in lowering the probability of back pain in the future. Less subluxation of the spine equals better quality of life and the ability to do  what we love without the distraction of pain.

Everyone at some point plays video games, looks down at a phone, has to sit for long periods at a computer, or stand for long periods at work. Wear and tear is inevitable, but getting adjusted gives relief to the dysfunction that’s bound to happen.

“After his first visit Carson’s neck was relaxed!”

For years, Carson suffered with a stiff neck and an awkward upper-body sway as he walked.  He never enjoyed normal childhood activities such as running.  Nothing helped Carson until his parents understood that neurologically based chiropractic care works to remove nerve interference which affects the whole body.  Josh and Maria were willing to try anything for their 12-year-old son and started bringing Carson in regularly for adjustments.  After his first visit, his neck was relaxed. A stiff neck was all Carson ever knew up until this point.  After the second visit, he absolutely lost the sway in his upper body! Carson’s family is seeing amazing results in the way his body is functioning under regular chiropractic care.

“We recommend chiropractic care!”

“Chiropractic care has been well explained by Dr. Micheal and his staff, especially regarding cause, effect, and outcome.  Down the road, Carson will avoid medication and possible surgery by having this corrected.”

-Josh, Maria, & Carson

What if we could be limitless? What if we could function at our best and full potential without pain weighing us down?  Thankfully, neurologically based chiropractic care can give us those options.

Believe it or not, back pain can actually increase mortality rate.  This makes total sense, because how can we focus on taking care of ourselves when all we can think about is how much pain we’re in? We must get to the root of the issue instead of just masking symptoms.  It’s time to stop letting subluxation take away our quality of life.

Many people choose chiropractic for other reasons, such as prevention. It’s much easier to prevent than fix, so giving our bodies the chance to function optimally before underlying issues occur is truly “nipping it in the bud,” thereby stopping many issues before they even start.

True, it may seem like an easier way out to just try and mask the pain – but imagine if there was a way to get rid of it completely.  Chiropractic gives us that option, and with time and repetition, we can allow our bodies to heal and function the way God intended – and wouldn’t it be amazing to truly live instead of just exist?

Lee’s Story:

For many years, Lee suffered with back pain, sharp pain when sitting or standing, and pain when bending over.  Unfortunately, this restricted his activities, including his love for running.  After receiving chiropractic care, Lee had less pain and was able to run again.  Even after having a couple major setbacks due to woodsplitting and ax work, he still saw improvement in back pain, neck motion, and better posture.  Lee’s wife and sons now also get adjusted, which has resulted in less pain for them as well. Lee recommends chiropractic care to anyone who is sick, suffering, or in pain. “The office is positive, uplifting, and encouraging.”

Just as we take care of our skin, gut health, weight, or immune system, so we must care for the spine.  Our nervous system controls everything in our entire body, and one misalignment can cause a multitude of issues.  Spinal Stenosis is the narrowing of spaces in the spine, mostly seen in the neck and low back. The narrowing causes subluxation, or pressure on the nerves.  Our nerves communicate with every muscle, cell, organ, and tissue in our bodies, so when that message is distorted or halted, there could be dysfunction as well as pain.

A recent study involving a 66-year-old woman showed that after intensive chiropractic care, her spine curvature was greatly improved!  The benefits of improved function can mean less pain as well. Despite her degeneration and spinal stenosis, her body was able to itself so she could function and live the best quality of life possible!

Patricia’s Story:

Patricia struggled with spinal stenosis and bulging discs for many years before starting care at Integral Chiropractic Co.  She used painkillers often to deal with the symptoms, but nothing got rid of the issue for good. She had doubts that chiropractic would work for her, at first, but after time and repetition with care, she is now able to lie on her stomach to sleep and her feet don’t get cold anymore due to poor blood circulation!  Her sons and daughter now also receive care, and her sons no longer have to have breathing treatments or take allergy medication! “My first impression of the office was that I loved everyone, they were all so nice and the atmosphere was very calming.”

When you think of chiropractic, one of the first things that comes to mind is probably relief for back pain.  However, neurologically based chiropractic care can provide improved overall health for many different health concerns.  Health can be defined as “an optimal state of function.”  True health is our bodies being able to function properly, as God intended, giving us the freedom to enjoy our life and work without a plethora of health concerns.

It may seem like a good idea or easier option to just cover up the symptom and get through the pain, but thankfully, chiropractic gives us the option to allow the body to heal as it was designed to do and get rid of the symptom at its source and.  Being pain free is amazing – but what if we could not only feel better, but function better, too? Focusing on our nervous system helps our bodies to uncover and work to eradicate symptoms instead of covering them up temporarily.

The result?  Less pain, less medical costs, and better quality of life to spend with those we love!

Sara’s Story:

Sara suffered with neck pain, lower back pain, numbness in her hands and feet, constipation, and TMJ for many years.  Her conditions were getting worse with time, and the pain was consistent and very distracting.  Painkillers didn’t seem to work, and steroid shots for her TMJ only provided temporary relief, then caused the pain to be worse!  She was slightly skeptical about neurologically based chiropractic care at first but found over time and repetition that her symptoms began to dissipate. Since being under care, her results include emotional healing, no more constipation, a renewal of balance, and more energy.  “At Integral Chiropractic, you’re able to relax and be yourself.  The doctor actually listens.  He is very informative, takes time to explain things, is very positive, and gives great advice for healthy living.”

The first response for most people in pain is to reach for medication.  Sports injuries and trauma can leave lasting, debilitating pain for years to come. And while pain reliever medications can give temporary relief, unfortunately, the side effects can be just as bad – or even worse! –  than the original issue.  Temporary relief tricks the mind into thinking that the issue is resolved, when in reality, it’s only masking the underlying cause.  This can lead to feelings of depression or despair, putting the mind on an emotional roller coaster, feeling fine one minute, then upended again the next.

In the end, it becomes a vicious cycle – pain, medication, then poor emotional health, which leads to more pain.  Neurologically based chiropractic care gives a different option: finding the pain at its source, and freeing the body up to heal from the root.  At Integral Chiropractic, we seek to help practice members remove vertebral subluxation, which causes interference and interruption in communication between the brain and the body.

When the nervous system can communicate freely, it allows the whole body to function properly and in order which leads to optimal health and healing! Your body was designed to heal!

“I was back on the golf course pain free!”

My journey all started with excruciating low back pain. I was 15 years old, playing a round of golf for a school competition. It was the last hole of the round, and I needed a great drive to have a chance at winning. I put all that I had into the drive, heard a pop, and somehow ended up falling to my knees in pain. As I knelt there, I realized my lower back was hurting so bad that I did not want to move and risk any further pain. After some time went by, I was able to walk over to the bench with some support from a friend. I started loading up with pain killers for that next week with no answer in sight. It was about 8 days after the injury that I was taken to the chiropractor. After some time, I was back on the golf course PAIN FREE! All it took was time and repetition for my body to respond to the adjustments. I couldn’t be more thankful for chiropractic! Also, while under care, I noticed my allergies had gone down quite a bit. It was amazing how my body was able to battle these allergies I had since I was a young kid. I was that kid on Claritin every day of my life, until under neurologically based chiropractic care! Now I do not suffer with allergies. – Anthony

Not many things are as frustrating as stomach pains and digestive issues. Adults and children alike suffer with conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s disease, constipation, acid reflux and overall poor digestive health.  It’s easy to just accept these health issues as a life sentence, but neurologically based chiropractic care gives people the freedom of less pain and better quality of life.

For example, a recent study showed the benefits of chiropractic care in an 8-year-old girl with pelvic unleveling and irregular bowel movements. After trying several things with little to no results, the girl’s parents decided to try chiropractic care. The girl saw improvements after 2 weeks of care, and after six weeks, her digestive issues were no longer an issue!  The best part?  It was the first time in her life that she was accident free!

“I can now incorporate gluten back into my diet again!”

In 2011, Callan found out she was severely intolerant to gluten.  Sometimes, her body would ache for two weeks at a time after eating gluten!  She had completely changed her diet and even the slightest contamination would upset her system.  She was in college, unable to eat most food at the cafeteria and was constantly having her studies interrupted by the anxiety she was now experiencing.  She had tried different forms of therapy and nothing was helping, not even medications.  She struggled through this daily routine for four years until finally, chiropractic entered her life.  After three months of care, she noticed significant decreases in her anxiety attacks, and after five months of care, she realized she could tolerate gluten if it was introduced into her diet much better than before!  Now, one year after her first adjustment, Callan will tell you, “I found that I am able to incorporate gluten into my daily diet again and I have not had a panic attack in months.”

“When I’m on schedule with my appointments and see Dr. Micheal

regularly, I have absolutely no IBS symptoms!”

I had IBS pain in my whole abdomen area with cramping, bloating, diarrhea and constipation.

My symptoms were very severe!  This had been going on for as long as I could remember.  I was hospitalized for five days when I was ten years old for these symptoms, and it has just continued to get worse over the years.

I had seen doctors who wanted me to take pills that would just cover up my symptoms and had bad side effects.  My IBS had gotten so bad that I thought I had a gluten intolerance or Celiac disease or something worse.

I was very skeptical when I heard chiropractic care could help with IBS.  I had decided to finish out my first appointment because of my husband, and I wasn’t planning to come back!  But, as I was going to get my x-ray, another patient came out of a room and stopped Saralynn to tell her that she was no longer taking insulin and one of her arms was no longer falling asleep; NOW they had my attention!  I decided to give it a try.

My results were subtle, so I didn’t notice fully what had taken place until about three weeks into my care.  I had McDonald’s food and said to those around me “I will pay for this!”  But I never did!!  When I’m on schedule with my appointments and see Dr. Micheal regularly, I have absolutely no IBS symptoms!

I would recommend neurologically based chiropractic care to others who are sick, suffering, or in pain.  I can now eat what I want!  I couldn’t fully understand how much better I was feeling until the holidays—I missed several appointments and began to be miserable again.

Especially during this time in our world, everyone is looking for a way to stay healthy and avoid sickness.  A single chiropractic adjustment can boost the immune system by 200%!  Everyone wants to live a healthy, pain free life free from sickness.

Chiropractic care offers an option for better quality of life.  Adjustments remove subluxation, or nerve interference, and therefore aid the body in functioning optimally.  As we age, our range of motion can decrease, so it’s important to get adjusted regularly as consistent care allows us the ability to do the things we enjoy longer.

Elderly patients could see better balance, improvement in walking, and less pain!  For example, a 70 year old woman in a recent study suffered with reduced range of motion and 20 years of pain.  She reported better head posture, balance, and range of motion after only a month of care!  She then continued with wellness care and hasn’t complained of returned symptoms!

Regular adjustments keep people out of the hospital and able to work and enjoy the lives they work so hard to build for themselves and their families.

“We did not get sick this past year!”

I have suffered with cerebral palsy, allergies, glaucoma, and pain in my upper back and shoulders for years. My pain level was not excruciating, but it was progressively getting worse. My allergies were severe and debilitating at times.

Before starting care, I went to different places trying to find relief for my back pain, but it was always temporary, and I needed something to last. Through a natural path, I found small relief for my severe allergies, but nothing I tried worked for everything.

I never had any doubts about Dr. Micheal and that chiropractic care would help with my overall health! When I came into the office, I thought the staff were very friendly, thorough and informative.

My husband is also under care at Integral Chiropractic Co.; he has struggled with lower back pain, sharp pain when standing, sitting, or even bending the wrong way. He had dealt with it for years and was ready to be rid of the pain as well. His first impression was how positive, uplifting and encouraging the office was for him. He saw improvements in his back pain, neck motion, his ability to run and even had better posture!

The first and almost immediate result I felt under chiropractic care was finally being able to sleep and fall into a deep enough that I could remember my dreams! Gradually the pain began to decrease, and I even saw my flexibility increase! It was an awesome thing to experience. My favorite result is that neither I nor my husband got sick once this past year!

I would recommend chiropractic care to anyone that is sick, suffering or in pain. My husband and I are now in less pain and are able to sleep and function so much better! There are even 3 generations of our family who are under care at Integral Chiropractic Co.! Everyone here is so friendly, and I am thankful for this natural way to health!

Recurring pain and symptoms can be anything from frustrating to debilitating.  Many patients often have no idea when pain or flareups will occur.  This can be disruptive in our busy lives and potentially cause depression and fear of the unknown.  So how can we predict these flare ups and keep them from happening?

Some patients prefer to just “work through the pain”  or “take it as it comes.”  Maintenance care has been found to be more effective than merely getting adjusted in the presence of symptoms.  Symptoms should not be treated as they come up, but rather work to prevent them from returning.

An important thing about chiropractic care is that consistent time and repetition yields the best results. Chiropractic maintenance can help pain not to return in the future.  Research has shown that maintenance care provides a patient with less pain in their life than just getting adjusted when there are symptoms present.  Improving the structure of the spine with chiropractic care can lessen the time and chance of a flare up so patients can enjoy a better quality of life.

Life is not just about being “okay,” but thriving!

At six months into my care, I am walking virtually pain free!

I have one leg shorter than the other, causing a limp, hip pain, knee pain, ankle pain and low back pain.  My hips were way out of alignment.  I’m disabled due to this condition, and have suffered with it for 21 years.  My orthopedist has done surgery on my right leg five times, and my physical therapist helped me to walk somewhat normally.

My wife was already a practice member with Dr. Micheal, but I was skeptical about trying chiropractic care to help with my symptoms.  However, I told Dr. Micheal that if my wife saw improvement, I would become a patient.  She improved, I became a patient, and I have nothing but praise for Dr. Micheal, his staff, and God!!!

At six months into my care, I am walking virtually pain free!  My hip, knee, ankle and back pain are almost eliminated completely!  I am walking just about normal with little to no limp.  My wife is being treated for fibromyalgia, back pain, degenerative disc, and sciatic nerve problems, and has seen improvement as well.

I recommend neurologically based chiropractic care with Dr. Micheal!  This unorthodox and different method has improved the quality of my life dramatically!
