Most of us know that prevention is much easier than repair.  Especially when we’re young, we can easily forget how important our posture is and the affect it can have in adulthood. Posture plays a vital role in  back pain and other types of dysfunction that can happen down the road.

Neurologically based chiropractic care has the ability to help prevent problems before they even occur.  Research shows that chiropractic care improves posture, therefore aiding in lowering the probability of back pain in the future. Less subluxation of the spine equals better quality of life and the ability to do  what we love without the distraction of pain.

Everyone at some point plays video games, looks down at a phone, has to sit for long periods at a computer, or stand for long periods at work. Wear and tear is inevitable, but getting adjusted gives relief to the dysfunction that’s bound to happen.

“After his first visit Carson’s neck was relaxed!”

For years, Carson suffered with a stiff neck and an awkward upper-body sway as he walked.  He never enjoyed normal childhood activities such as running.  Nothing helped Carson until his parents understood that neurologically based chiropractic care works to remove nerve interference which affects the whole body.  Josh and Maria were willing to try anything for their 12-year-old son and started bringing Carson in regularly for adjustments.  After his first visit, his neck was relaxed. A stiff neck was all Carson ever knew up until this point.  After the second visit, he absolutely lost the sway in his upper body! Carson’s family is seeing amazing results in the way his body is functioning under regular chiropractic care.

“We recommend chiropractic care!”

“Chiropractic care has been well explained by Dr. Micheal and his staff, especially regarding cause, effect, and outcome.  Down the road, Carson will avoid medication and possible surgery by having this corrected.”

What if we could be limitless? What if we could function at our best and full potential without pain weighing us down?  Thankfully, neurologically based chiropractic care can give us those options.

Believe it or not, back pain can actually increase mortality rate.  This makes total sense, because how can we focus on taking care of ourselves when all we can think about is how much pain we’re in? We must get to the root of the issue instead of just masking symptoms.  It’s time to stop letting subluxation take away our quality of life.

Many people choose chiropractic for other reasons, such as prevention. It’s much easier to prevent than fix, so giving our bodies the chance to function optimally before underlying issues occur is truly “nipping it in the bud,” thereby stopping many issues before they even start.

True, it may seem like an easier way out to just try and mask the pain – but imagine if there was a way to get rid of it completely.  Chiropractic gives us that option, and with time and repetition, we can allow our bodies to heal and function the way God intended – and wouldn’t it be amazing to truly live instead of just exist?

Lee’s Story:

For many years, Lee suffered with back pain, sharp pain when sitting or standing, and pain when bending over.  Unfortunately, this restricted his activities, including his love for running.  After receiving chiropractic care, Lee had less pain and was able to run again.  Even after having a couple major setbacks due to woodsplitting and ax work, he still saw improvement in back pain, neck motion, and better posture.  Lee’s wife and sons now also get adjusted, which has resulted in less pain for them as well. Lee recommends chiropractic care to anyone who is sick, suffering, or in pain. “The office is positive, uplifting, and encouraging.”

Just as we take care of our skin, gut health, weight, or immune system, so we must care for the spine.  Our nervous system controls everything in our entire body, and one misalignment can cause a multitude of issues.  Spinal Stenosis is the narrowing of spaces in the spine, mostly seen in the neck and low back. The narrowing causes subluxation, or pressure on the nerves.  Our nerves communicate with every muscle, cell, organ, and tissue in our bodies, so when that message is distorted or halted, there could be dysfunction as well as pain.

A recent study involving a 66-year-old woman showed that after intensive chiropractic care, her spine curvature was greatly improved!  The benefits of improved function can mean less pain as well. Despite her degeneration and spinal stenosis, her body was able to itself so she could function and live the best quality of life possible!

Patricia’s Story:

Patricia struggled with spinal stenosis and bulging discs for many years before starting care at Integral Chiropractic Co.  She used painkillers often to deal with the symptoms, but nothing got rid of the issue for good. She had doubts that chiropractic would work for her, at first, but after time and repetition with care, she is now able to lie on her stomach to sleep and her feet don’t get cold anymore due to poor blood circulation!  Her sons and daughter now also receive care, and her sons no longer have to have breathing treatments or take allergy medication! “My first impression of the office was that I loved everyone, they were all so nice and the atmosphere was very calming.”

The first response for most people in pain is to reach for medication.  Sports injuries and trauma can leave lasting, debilitating pain for years to come. And while pain reliever medications can give temporary relief, unfortunately, the side effects can be just as bad – or even worse! –  than the original issue.  Temporary relief tricks the mind into thinking that the issue is resolved, when in reality, it’s only masking the underlying cause.  This can lead to feelings of depression or despair, putting the mind on an emotional roller coaster, feeling fine one minute, then upended again the next.

In the end, it becomes a vicious cycle – pain, medication, then poor emotional health, which leads to more pain.  Neurologically based chiropractic care gives a different option: finding the pain at its source, and freeing the body up to heal from the root.  At Integral Chiropractic, we seek to help practice members remove vertebral subluxation, which causes interference and interruption in communication between the brain and the body.

When the nervous system can communicate freely, it allows the whole body to function properly and in order which leads to optimal health and healing! Your body was designed to heal!

“I was back on the golf course pain free!”

My journey all started with excruciating low back pain. I was 15 years old, playing a round of golf for a school competition. It was the last hole of the round, and I needed a great drive to have a chance at winning. I put all that I had into the drive, heard a pop, and somehow ended up falling to my knees in pain. As I knelt there, I realized my lower back was hurting so bad that I did not want to move and risk any further pain. After some time went by, I was able to walk over to the bench with some support from a friend. I started loading up with pain killers for that next week with no answer in sight. It was about 8 days after the injury that I was taken to the chiropractor. After some time, I was back on the golf course PAIN FREE! All it took was time and repetition for my body to respond to the adjustments. I couldn’t be more thankful for chiropractic! Also, while under care, I noticed my allergies had gone down quite a bit. It was amazing how my body was able to battle these allergies I had since I was a young kid. I was that kid on Claritin every day of my life, until under neurologically based chiropractic care! Now I do not suffer with allergies. – Anthony

Recurring pain and symptoms can be anything from frustrating to debilitating.  Many patients often have no idea when pain or flareups will occur.  This can be disruptive in our busy lives and potentially cause depression and fear of the unknown.  So how can we predict these flare ups and keep them from happening?

Some patients prefer to just “work through the pain”  or “take it as it comes.”  Maintenance care has been found to be more effective than merely getting adjusted in the presence of symptoms.  Symptoms should not be treated as they come up, but rather work to prevent them from returning.

An important thing about chiropractic care is that consistent time and repetition yields the best results. Chiropractic maintenance can help pain not to return in the future.  Research has shown that maintenance care provides a patient with less pain in their life than just getting adjusted when there are symptoms present.  Improving the structure of the spine with chiropractic care can lessen the time and chance of a flare up so patients can enjoy a better quality of life.

Life is not just about being “okay,” but thriving!

At six months into my care, I am walking virtually pain free!

I have one leg shorter than the other, causing a limp, hip pain, knee pain, ankle pain and low back pain.  My hips were way out of alignment.  I’m disabled due to this condition, and have suffered with it for 21 years.  My orthopedist has done surgery on my right leg five times, and my physical therapist helped me to walk somewhat normally.

My wife was already a practice member with Dr. Micheal, but I was skeptical about trying chiropractic care to help with my symptoms.  However, I told Dr. Micheal that if my wife saw improvement, I would become a patient.  She improved, I became a patient, and I have nothing but praise for Dr. Micheal, his staff, and God!!!

At six months into my care, I am walking virtually pain free!  My hip, knee, ankle and back pain are almost eliminated completely!  I am walking just about normal with little to no limp.  My wife is being treated for fibromyalgia, back pain, degenerative disc, and sciatic nerve problems, and has seen improvement as well.

I recommend neurologically based chiropractic care with Dr. Micheal!  This unorthodox and different method has improved the quality of my life dramatically!
